WASHINGTON, May 14 (UPI) -- A poll released Friday by the polling company found 59 percent of U.S. women said they will absolutely vote in November but 22 percent said they might not.

The tpc poll discovered that 25 percent of the so-called "low propensity" voters said they would not vote because they're not registered. Another 23 percent of low propensity female voters say they do not vote because they're dissatisfied with the political system overall.

"Women, who are a majority of voters, will decide this election because so many are disenfranchised yet they are 'get-able' over the next six months," said The polling company President Kellyanne Conway.

These data should send a strong signal to both parties to step up registration efforts aimed at women. Bonnie Erbe, host of PBS' To the Contrary, which sponsored the poll with tpc, said,as far as the presidential election goes, "Both candidates are taking women for granted at their peril." In the 2000 elections, 59.3 million women reported to the U.S. Census bureau they voted, versus 51.5 million men.
