Video: Militants behead U.S. man in Iraq

BAGHDAD, May 11 (UPI) -- An Islamic militant group believed to be linked to al-Qaida has posted a video on its Web site of the beheading of a man from Philadelphia.

The BBC reported Tuesday that the video on the Muntada al-Ansar site showed five men in headscarves and ski masks chopping off the man's head with a knife.

The bound victim, dressed in an orange jumpsuit, is heard on the video saying he's Nick Berg -- an American from Philadelphia.

"My father's name is Michael, my mother's name is Suzanne," the victim said. "I have a brother and sister, David and Sarah. I live in ... Philadelphia."

Berg's body was found outside Baghdad Saturday. He had been repairing Iraq telecommunications infrastructure.

A statement by the executioners said, "You will not receive anything from us but coffins after coffins ... slaughtered in this way."

The group said the execution was in retaliation for the abuse of Iraqi prisoners at the hands of U.S. soldiers.

The group also said President George Bush would regret the day he stepped into Iraq and Pakistani President Pervez Musharraf was a "traitor agent."
