Three Palestinians killed in West Bank

GAZA, May 7 (UPI) -- Israeli troops killed three Palestinians in a West Bank refugee camp and thwarted another terrorist attack Friday, reports said.

Unconfirmed reports said two of the dead Palestinians, both in their late 20s, were members of the militant group, Islamic Jihad.

Palestinian sources said the two were killed when Israeli troops moved into the camp of Nour Shams, east of Tulkarm, and clashed with Palestinian gunmen.

An 18-year-old Palestinian was also killed by Israeli troops in Nablus when stray bullets hit him as he watched the soldiers from the roof of his house, the sources added.

Also Friday, Israeli soldiers caught a car with three explosives devices ready to be activated.

An Army spokesman said the Shabak security service learned of the car bomb and the army eventually found it in an olive grove near the village of Salem, east of Nablus.

Border police detonated the charge.

The spokesman noted it was the third terrorist attack thwarted this week in the Nablus region.
