ATHENS, Greece, May 5 (UPI) -- Three bombs damaged an Athens police station Wednesday, exactly 100 days before the city hosts the summer Olympic Games, the BBC said.
Only one police officer suffered minor injuries when the bombs went off before sunrise.
An anonymous caller tipped off a newspaper, and the area was evacuated when the explosions began. A fourth device was found by the bomb squad and destroyed in a controlled explosion.
No group has yet claimed responsibility although the BBC said suspicion is on radical left-wing groups.
The police station is in the central Athens area of Kalithea, home to several hotels that are due to be used by Olympic officials during the Games in August.
The attacks came on the same day Greece's Public Order Minister, George Voulgarakis, is holding talks in Washington on security surrounding the Olympics.
Greek government spokesman Theodoros Roussopoulos said in a statement: "None of the facts obtained so far indicate that today's incident is linked to preparation for the Olympics."
