South Korea's Unification Ministry and the South Korean Red Cross said the relief team's primary task will be to organize relief goods for the devastated town, the Korea Times reported Sunday.

A more detailed relief plan will be discussed during the 14th inter-Korean Cabinet-level meeting to be held Tuesday in Pyongyang.

Red Cross officials plan to send the second shipment of instant noodles and medicine to Pyongyang by airplane Tuesday.

"Please relay my thankfulness to those from all walks of life in South Korean society," North Korean Prime Minister Park Pong-ju said during a welcoming dinner for the 300 members of the South Korean delegation from umbrella labor unions that visited Pyongyang for May Day celebrations.
