BEIRUT, Lebanon, April 26 (UPI) -- A leading member of the Palestinian militant group Hamas is visiting Bahrain on the first visit of its kind to the island kingdom, Hamas statement said.
The statement faxed Monday to UPI's office in Beirut said Hamas Politburo member Mohammed Nazzal arrived in Bahrain Sunday at the invitation of the Bahraini Association for the Support of Palestine.

It said Nazzal held talks with Bahraini parliament speaker Khalifa bin Ahmed al-Zahrani and members of the Islamic bloc, and was to lecture on the situation in the Palestinian territories. A press conference also was scheduled.
