2 more booby-trapped cars seized in Saudi

RIYADH, Saudi Arabia, April 19 (UPI) -- Saudi security Monday seized two vehicles laden with explosives near Riyadh, a day after confiscating three booby-trapped cars and arresting eight militants.

A security source who spoke to UPI on condition of anonymity said the cars were found on the Ramah road northeast of the capital, but provided no other information.

Saudi authorities said Sunday they arrested eight men in last week's clashes between armed militants and authorities north of Riyadh.

The incidents took the lives of several militants and policemen.

They said the three cars also seized on Sunday were laden with 4,000 kilograms (8,818.5 pounds) of highly-explosive material and were apparently to be used in attacks against the oil-rich Arab kingdom.
