WASHINGTON, April 18 (UPI) -- A member of the 9/11 commission, Jamie Gorelick, says she has received death threats, including a bomb threat.

"I can confirm that I've received threats at my office and my home," Gorelick told CNN. "I did get a bomb threat to my home."

She also said: "I have gotten a lot of very vile e-mails." The FBI is investigating the matter, CNN said.

Gorelick had served as U.S. deputy attorney general, and some people maintain her work in the Justice Department was part of the U.S. government's failure to stop the terrorist attacks of Sept. 11, 2001.

A so-called "wall" between the various intelligence agencies in the United States has been blamed for poor communication and sharing of information. It was Gorelick who wrote a memo that helped define that barrier, distinguishing between intelligence for law enforcement and intelligence for national security.

The Patriot Act abolished tha "wall," which had been erected in response to concerns about invasion of privacy and other civil rights.
