Polk County, Minn., Sheriff Mark LeTexier made the announcement the body of the 22-year-old student had been discovered but gave few details, according to the Minneapolis Star Tribune.

She was last seen Nov. 22 when she left the Columbia Mall in Grand Forks, N.D.

The body was found near the Red Lake River just outside the Crookston city limits near where her shoe was found earlier.

Crookston is the hometown of 52-year old convicted sex offender Alfonso Rodriguez Jr. who was arrested and charged with Sjoden's kidnapping in December. He is in the Grand Forks, N.D. jail held on $5 million bail. He has pleaded not guilty.
