"The two leaders will reconfirm the friendly relationship between Seoul and Washington and discuss the readjustment of the ROK-U.S. alliance," South Korea's Foreign Affairs and Trade Minister Ban Ki-moon told reporters.

"Vice President Cheney will also likely express gratitude for Seoul's commitment to send additional troops to Iraq," he added.

In China, Cheney received new information on North Korea's nuclear activities. The United States wants China to take a tougher stand on the issue.
