DENVER, April 12 (UPI) -- The director of maintenance at Denver International Airport has admitted widespread mold buildup and sewage-like odors in parts of Concourse B.
In a deposition, Dan Brown acknowledged:
-- crews had to wall off a training room overtaken by mold;
-- so much water and de-icing fluid leaked into the basement that it poured down walls and onto the floor, and
-- a utility tunnel was closed off to maintenance workers with mold allergies.
Lawyers in the class-action suit say Brown's deposition legitimizes the concerns of airport and airline employees who say they've been sickened by various environmental contaminants at the airport and are seeking damages.
"I'm just glad now there's validity to what these people have gone through, there's something to back up their stories," said George Lang, a Chicago lawyer litigating the case along with a Denver law firm.
"(Brown's) deposition clearly shows there's problems at the airport, and that my people aren't making this up."
