Evangelicals for targeting terrorists

WASHINGTON, April 7 (UPI) -- American evangelicals support Israel's right to kill terrorist leaders, a poll released by the International Fellowship of Christians and Jews shows.

The survey was conducted among the 1,600 users of the Fellowship's Web site following Israel's killing of Hamas founder Ahmed Yassin.

Of the 1,140 respondents, 99 percent answered in the affirmative the question, "Do you agree that Israel has the right to defend itself by eliminating terrorism at its source?"

Almost as many - 96 percent -- said "no" to the follow-up question, "Do you believe U.S. leaders have the right to restrict Israel's response to terror attacks?"
