Drunk driver crashes into cop car

SYDNEY, April 2 (UPI) -- A judge in Sydney, Australia, has sentenced a drunk driver who let his six-year-old nephew sit on his lap as he crashed into a police car.

Gavin Conrad Harris, 31, has been banned from driving for five years, Sky News reported Friday.

He was more than four times the legal limit when the accident happened.

Stunned police officers found the six-year-old sitting on Harris's lap, hands on steering wheel. Neither Harris nor his nephew was wearing a seatbelt.

Harris, a former self-employed plumber, has three previous drunk-driving convictions.
