Mom accused of selling daughters for sex

PIERSON, Fla., March 25 (UPI) -- A 33-year-old Florida woman faced five felony charges Thursday for allegedly selling her two teenage daughters to men for sex.

Relatives said the girls were 14 and 17, according to the Orlando Sentinel, which withheld names.

Arrest reports say at least one of the girls and a witness told investigators the woman took her daughters to a fernery in Crescent City and a house in DeLand, where she charged men from $50 to $65 to have sex with the girls.

The mother, arrested Tuesday at her rural home, was charged two counts of child abuse, two counts of procuring a minor for prostitution and one count of deriving support from the proceeds of prostitution.

A spokesman for the sheriff's office called it "an extremely disturbing case."
