Palestinian child dies of wounds

GAZA CITY, Gaza, March 20 (UPI) -- A seven-year-old Palestinian girl died Saturday after being shot in the head by Israeli forces at a refugee camp in the Gaza Strip.

Officials at Nasser Hospital in Khan Younes in southwestern Gaza said Fatima al-Jallad, a resident of the Khan Younes refugee camp, was shot Friday when Israeli soldiers opened fire from a surveillance tower near a Jewish settlement.

The child, wounded while playing with friends in a nearby field, died Saturday.
