Dick Cheney to visit South Korea

SEOUL, March 20 (UPI) -- U.S. Vice President Dick Cheney plans to visit South Korea in mid-April, a Seoul official announced.

Cheney will arrive here around April 15 for a two-day visit as part of a longer overseas trip that will also include stops in China and Japan, the Korea Times reported Saturday.

The vice president will likely meet with Prime Minister Goh Kun, who is serving as South Korea's acting president, unless impeached President Roh Moo-hyun is vindicated by the Constitutional Court by that time.

Cheney will also discuss with Foreign Affairs-Trade Minister Ban Ki-moon the North Korean nuclear problem and realigning the U.S. Forces in South Korea.
