HOLLYWOOD, March 16 (UPI) -- Superstar singer Whitney Houston has chosen to enter a facility for rehabilitation, according to the television show Hollywood Entertainment.

It was not immediately clear why Houston is seeking help or which facility she has entered.

In 2002 she admitted to ABC's Diane Sawyer that she has used alcohol, marijuana, cocaine and prescription drugs at different points during her career, Hollywood Entertainment reported Tuesday.

At the time Houston claimed that part of her life was over, saying: "I partied a lot. Trust me. I partied my tail off," adding, "You get to a point where you know the party's over."

Two years earlier, Houston faced a drug possession charge after marijuana was allegedly found in her handbag at the airport in Hawaii. The charge was later dismissed.
