U.K. coroner rules out another Kelly probe

LONDON, March 16 (UPI) -- A British coroner Tuesday ruled out another inquest into the death of a weapons expert who was critical of the war on Iraq.

"(The coroner) said there were no exceptional circumstances following the public inquiry ... why there should be any resumption," a spokesman for the Thames Valley Police said.

Weapons expert David Kelly was revealed last year to be the source of a BBC news report that said Prime Minister Tony Blair's government had "sexed up" evidence on Iraq's weapons of mass destruction to justifying going to war. He killed himself last July following the revelation.

Earlier this year, an independent public inquiry concluded that Kelly had, in fact, committed suicide.
