Worker suspended for anti-Bush sign

CLEVELAND, March 12 (UPI) -- The Ohio Department of Transportation suspended a worker who put an anti-Bush message on his snowplow, which was used during the president's Cleveland visit.

Michael Gerstenslager was suspended after he returned the plow to its base after Bush's Wednesday visit to Ohio. His truck was ordered parked on a highway on-ramp to block traffic. As he waited for the president to ride by, Gerstenslager allegedly hung a sign stating "Traitor" on the side of the vehicle.

The Cleveland Plain Dealer reported that a member of the state highway patrol in the presidential motorcade noticed the sign and reported it to the ODOT.

"Gerstenslager has been suspended with pay while the ODOT looks into the incident," an ODOT spokeswoman told the newspaper.

ODOT has set a disciplinary hearing for next week to discuss the incident.
