Hariri is reported to have investments in Lebanon, Saudi Arabia, France and the United States. The businessman turned politician began his career in Saudi Arabia in construction. Over time, he developed a working relationship with Prince Fahd, now King Fahd. He made his millions through lucrative business deals.

Several sources, including Forbes, believe the Lebanese prime minister is planning to build a vacation home on the 16-acre Phillips property in Washington, though a spokesman for Hariri has denied the rumors.
