China issues its own human rights critique

BEIJING, Feb. 29 (UPI) -- China Monday made good its threat to compose a human rights critique of the United States, answering the annual U.S. report critical of China.

China's Information Office of China's State Council listed a multitude of cases in which the report says the United States violated human rights, the state controlled Xinhua news agency reported.

China's report, issued for the past five years a few days after the United States issues its report, cites alleged human rights violations in the area of political rights, labor living conditions, racial discrimination, conditions of women and the infringement of human rights of other nations.
