NEW DELHI, Feb. 26 (UPI) -- An Indian Air Force fighter jet crashed Thursday, killing its pilot in northwestern Rajasthan state.
The Jaguar jet, which was on a training sortie, crashed near Pokhran, India's nuclear test site, Air Force officials said.

Wing Cmdr. Ravi Khanna was preparing for demonstration on a major firepower offensive, which is to be showcased in March.
The Indian Air Force has lost three jets this year. A majority of the IAF aircraft involved in accidents in recent years has been the Russian-designed MiG-series jets, also dubbed as "flying coffins."
