Six killed in India space center fire

SRIHARIKOTA, India, Feb. 23 (UPI) -- At least six people were killed in a huge a fire that broke out Monday at India's space center on an island off the south coast, Press Trust of India reports.

The fire broke out when a testing motor was being filled with highly inflammable fuel. The accident occurred at the solid propellant space booster plant of the the Satish Dhawan Space Center at Sriharikota, off the coast of Andhra Pradesh state.

Firefighters were trying to contain the blaze.
