Ten Commandments back in courthouse

MONTGOMERY, Ala., Feb. 6 (UPI) -- Five months after the Ten Commandments were forcibly removed from the courthouse in Montgomery, Ala., they are back.

This time, though, they are part of an exhibition of historical documents that includes the U.S. Constitution and the Magna Charta.

However, the commandments did not return in the shape of the 5,280-pound sculpture put there on the orders of former Alabama Chief Justice Roy Moore, who was ousted from office.

Instead, wall-mounted photocopies of the oldest known Hebrew-language manuscript of the Decalogue are now on display, along with an English translation.
