Kerry projected winner in Arizona primary

PHOENIX, Feb. 3 (UPI) -- Massachusetts Sen. John Kerry is the projected Tuesday winner in Arizona's Democratic Presidential Primary.

Exit polling showed Kerry with a large lead over his next closest rival in the race to win most of the state's 55 dedicated delegates to the Democratic National Convention.

Earlier in the day, Kerry was projected to be leading in Arizona with 46 percent of the vote. Retired Gen. Wesley Clark followed with 24 percent and former Vermont governor Howard Dean in third with an estimated 13 percent of the vote.
