Police are looking into reports that an ongoing dispute between two groups of students escalated over the weekend and may have led to the shooting.

Immediately after the incident, students were being held inside the school.

Not long after noon, school officials began inviting parents inside the school for a briefing.

After the briefing, city officials spoke to the media, and parents were allowed to take their children from the school.

Ballou High School will be open for school on Tuesday.
