Israel kills Palestinian destroys houses

GAZA, Jan. 8 (UPI) -- Israeli troops killed a Palestinian Thursday and destroyed two houses in Rafah, south of the Gaza strip, Palestinian security sources said.

The victim, identified as 42-year-old Abu Youssef al-Najjar, was hit with a bullet in the head when Israeli troops opened fire at his house. He died shortly after arriving at a hospital.

Israeli bulldozers, in the meantime, destroyed two houses near the border crossing of Rafah belonging to two Palestinians who are not known to have links with militants.
