CLEARWATER, Fla., Dec. 24 (UPI) -- A Clearwater, Fla., judge has delayed judgment on an appeal of a law passed by the Florida Legislature to save the life of Terri Schiavo.
Circuit Judge W. Douglas Baird said Tuesday he would wait until the 2nd U.S. Circuit Court of Appeal rules on a number of appeals by government attorneys who are trying to save the law.
"Terri's Law" was passed in October to allow Gov. Jeb Bush to order the reinsertion of a feeding tube that has been keeping the 40-year-old woman alive for more than a decade.
Schiavo's parents want to keep her alive but her husband says she had told him she did not want to be kept alive by artificial means. He wants to remove the tube.
Government attorneys said the prognosis is gloomy for the law, the Tampa Tribune reported.
