Two L.A. County deputies shot, wounded

BELLFLOWER, Dec. 22 (UPI) -- Two Los Angeles County sheriff's deputies were recovering from wounds Monday after they were shot while serving an arrest warrant in Bellflower, Calif.

Suspect Javier Torres fled the scene but surrendered later in the day after deputies made a dragnet around the neighborhood.

KABC-TV in Los Angeles said Torres had a gunshot wound to the foot that officials believe was inflicted by the deputies.
