Explosions rock Baghdad

BAGHDAD, Dec. 14 (UPI) -- Three explosions rocked the Iraqi capital, Baghdad, Sunday night, a few hours after the announcement of Saddam Hussein's arrest by U.S. forces.

The Qatar-based al-Jazeera satellite channel said that a fuel tanker also blew up just outside the Palestine Hotel in the capital.

It said three explosions rocked different parts of the city, including one that blew up in the main commercial street of Karradeh in central Baghdad.

No further details, including injury reports, were available on the explosions, the first to be heard in the capital since the capture of Saddam near his hometown of Tikrit on Saturday night.
