May Co. stores recall girls' jackets

ST. LOUIS, Nov. 25 (UPI) -- The May Department Stores Co. of St. Louis, Mo., Tuesday recalled about 58,000 girls' hooded fleece jackets because the zipper pulls can detach.

The U.S. Consumer Products Safety Commission said the a detached zipper pull could pose a choking hazard to young children. No incidents, however, have been reported.

The jackets, with either "Just Friends" or "Angel Fish" sewn on the inside collar, are 80 percent cotton and 20 percent polyester. Jackets with style No. 60103 were sold in girl sizes 4-6X in pink, green, blue and lilac. Jackets with style No. 60104 were sold in girl sizes 4-6X in lilac, melon and turquoise. Jackets with style No. 70103 were sold in toddler sizes 2-4 in pink, mint green and lilac. The style number can be found on the jackets' hang tag.

The jackets were sold at: May Department Stores Co. outlets -- including Lord & Taylor, Filene's, Kaufmann's, Robinsons, Meier & Frank, Hecht's, Strawbridge's, Foley's, Famous-Barr, L.S. Ayres, and The Jones Store -- between July and November for about $13.

Consumers can return any of the recalled jackets for a refund or store credit.
