LITTLE ROCK, Ark., Nov. 21 (UPI) -- Gen. Wesley Clark's campaign headquarters in Little Rock, Ark., Friday launched his 12-day "Race for America" presidential campaign.
The two RV tours will travel to at least 12 states, spreading the Democratic presidential candidate's message of a "New American Patriotism."
Campaign officials said throngs of supporters gathered at Clark's campaign headquarters in Little Rock, and in Union Station in Washington, D.C., to send off the southbound and northbound RVs.
Rep. Charles Rangel, who was at Union Station, said, "This RV is going to take General Clark's message up and down the East Coast. When citizens hear his message, they will undoubtedly agree that General Clark is the right person to lead the country."
The Little Rock ceremony was led by former Arkansas State Treasurer Jimmie Lou Fisher and retired Major Gen. Jack Ryan.
They said the South is critical to the upcoming election, and that Gen. Clark is best positioned to ensure Democrats do well in the South.
