Report: Four Raiders test positive

NEW YORK, Nov. 16 (UPI) -- Four Oakland Raiders starters tested positive for THG, a so-called designer steroid banned by the NFL, it was reported Sunday.

The NFL Today and CBS SportsLine.com reported Pro Bowl defensive tackle Dana Stubblefield, former All-Pro center Barrett Robbins, former Pro Bowl linebacker Bill Romanowski and defensive tackle Chris Cooper face, pending an appeal, a four-game suspension.

It is the first time four players from the same team face suspension at the same time because of drug testing.

NFL officials had no comment, CBS reported, other than to say the test results should have remained private.

Three weeks ago SportsLine and The NFL Today reported those named Sunday and several others were subpoenaed to testify in an IRS probe of a testing facility in which the existence of THG tests was revealed.

In August, Atlanta Falcons linebacker Keith Newman was suspended for four games.

Sunday afternoon Oakland beat Minnesota 26-18, snapping a five-game losing streak.
