DINUBA, Calif., Oct. 15 (UPI) -- President Bush took part in a roundtable discussion with Latino leaders Wednesday in California, calling for tort reform to boost minority employment.

Bush told the leaders, including U.S. Housing Secretary Mel Martinez: "We need a little tort reform in this great state of California. You got a new governor; I'll talk to him about it tomorrow. I am going to mention tort reform as a way to make sure our job base continues to expand."

Bush also said Martinez was working to boost minority home ownership: "Seventy five percent of the Anglos in America own a home; the minority home ownership in America is below 50 percent. So we want there to be 5.5 million new minority homeowners."
