The woman, a spectator, was directly hit by the lightning during the game at the Great Barr Leisure Centre.

She had no heartbeat when medical officials arrived, authorities said. She was revived by paramedics and was alert by the time they reached the hospital, the BBC said. Her condition late Sunday was unknown.

Many of the soccer players on the field suffered "deep shock" as a result of the strike, an official told the BBC.

Also, four people were injured Sunday when lightning hit during a Warwickshire agricultural show in Corley, the BBC said. The event was cancelled after the strike. The conditions of the injured were unknown.
