Friend of missing player bashes Baylor

DALLAS, July 20 (UPI) -- The best friend of the Baylor basketball player missing since June 12 lashed out against the university, saying he was being treated unfairly.

In his first interview in nearly three weeks, Carlton Dotson told The Dallas Morning News he was treated "very unfairly and unjust" by Baylor officials since the disappearance of Patrick Dennehy.

Waco police have said they believe Dennehy is dead and have called Dotson, his roommate and teammate, "a person of interest" in the investigation.

Dotson confirmed police questioned him Thursday, but refused to discuss the case further.

Saturday, Coach Dave Bliss said he and Dotson mutually decided it would be best if he did not return to Baylor.

Dotson told the paper that was "a lie." He said the coach promised to stand behind him and he told Bliss "I was going to support Baylor in any which-way I can."
