Bryant turned himself into the Eagle County sheriff's detention facility on Friday and was released on $25,000 bond, FOX Sports said.

A judge has sealed the case, but KMGH and KUSA television stations said the charges were leveled by a woman who claimed to have been assaulted by Bryant at an area hotel.

Police told FOX Sports the All-Star guard cooperated with authorities during their investigation.

Lakers General Manager Mitch Kupchak issued a statement Sunday calling the charges "completely out of character of the Kobe Bryant we know."

Kupchak went on to praise Bryant as "a fine young man" and "wonderful asset" to both the Lakers and Los Angeles.
