Phoenix D.A., bishop strike deal on abuse

PHOENIX, June 2 (UPI) -- County prosecutors have taken over the task of preventing child abuse in the Phoenix Catholic diocese in exchange for not bringing charges against the bishop. Maricopa County Attorney Rick Romler said the deal calls for anti-sexual abuse training for church personnel and county oversight over future complaints.
