Court divided in Miranda case

WASHINGTON, May 27 (UPI) -- The Supreme Court ruled Tuesday that a never-charged suspect was not treated unconstitutionally when he was questioned without being warned of his rights. The majority opinion by Justice Clarence Thomas said since there ended up being no criminal case, Oliverio Martinez was not deprived of his constitutional right against self-incrimination.
