CHICAGO, May 9 (UPI) -- Former Illinois Gov. Jim Edgar Friday declined an invitation to seek the Republican nomination for the U.S. senate seat held by Peter Fitzgerald. "You never want to say no to the president of the United States," Edgar told a news conference, but he refused to reconsider.
