Texas weighs new option in capital cases

AUSTIN, Texas, April 4 (UPI) -- A Texas state senator said Friday his state should have the same sentencing options in capital cases that most other death penalty states have. Sen. Eddie Lucio, D-Brownsville, is sponsoring a bill that would gives Texas juries the option of a life sentence without parole.
