Congressman opposes clemency for Edwards

BATON ROUGE, La., Feb. 12 (UPI) -- A congressman has written President Bush opposing a bid seeking clemency for imprisoned former Louisiana Gov. Edwin Edwards. Louisiana Rep. David Vitter says Edwards, a Democrat, should stay in federal prison where he is serving a 10-year sentence for shaking down riverboat casino operators.
