Calif. water deal passes, but cuts likely

LOS ANGELES, Dec. 31 (UPI) -- Officials in California's Imperial Valley passed a revised water-transfer agreement late Tuesday, although it appeared likely the state would see its Colorado River allocations reduced. The Imperial Irrigation District agreed to the agreement; however, it has not yet been approved by two other water agencies as required.
