Three rescued from D.C. water main break

WASHINGTON, Dec. 21 (UPI) -- Firefighters plucked three people from their cars stranded in water gushing from a broken 48-inch water main in the Georgetown area Saturday night. Fire Department spokesman Alan Etter told United Press International an Engine 29 fireman found himself rescuing his girlfriend from his own Corvette, driven into the 3-foot deep water.
