TALLAHASSEE, Fla., Nov. 5 (UPI) -- In the Florida 5th Congressional District race, incumbent Democrat Karen Thurman has 115,033 votes while Republican challenger Virginia "Ginny" Brown-Waite has pulled ahead with 117,846 votes and Independent challenger Jack Gargan has 8,385 votes. The Florida Secretary of State's Office says that's with 97.7 percent of precincts reporting.
