Andersen gets $500,000 fine, probation

HOUSTON, Oct. 16 (UPI) -- Arthur Andersen LLP was fined $500,000 and sentenced to five years probation Wednesday for obstruction of justice. An attorney for the Enron Corp. auditor said the embattled Chicago-based accounting firm would appeal the conviction.
