Oct. 3, 2002 at 1:19 PM   |   Comments

WASHINGTON, Oct. 3 (UPI) -- Senate Republicans Thursday asked the U.S. Supreme Court to overturn a state court decision to allow Democrats to replace their candidate for the U.S. Senate on the New Jersey ballot. Sen. Bill Frist, R-Tenn., called the Democrats' decision to replace Sen. Robert Torricelli with former Sen. Frank Lautenberg "outrageous," and "a desperate power play."
