DNA evidence frees man after 13 years

LOUISVILLE, Ky., Sept. 19 (UPI) -- Herman May Jr. says the last 13 years of his life were "hell, pure hell." A Kentucky judge ordered the 31-year-old May released from state prison Wednesday afternoon after May's conviction on rape and sodomy charges was thrown after based on DNA evidence that indicated his likely innocence.
