Minnesota picks field for Ventura's job

, Sept. 10 (UPI) -- Minnesota voters Tuesday nominated Republican Tim Pawlenty and Democrat Roger Moe to succeed outgoing Gov. Jesse Ventura, who had been elected as an independent. Saint Paul Mayor Norm Coleman breezed to the Republican nomination for the Senate seat occupied by Democrat Paul Wellstone.
