Prisoner allegedly tried to defraud fund

BEAUMONT, Texas, Sept. 5 (UPI) -- A Texas prison inmate has been charged with attempting to defraud the Sept. 11 victim Compensation Fund created by Congress. Federal prosecutors say Todd W. Altschul was in a Beaumont prison when he claimed he was severely injured in the attacks on the World Trade Center.
